expressionsofme @ 03:45 pm: Question
I'm hoping to go see the Newsboys at Grove City College but need some help first. I wanted to order tickets but there is no seating chart...can someone tell me if they know the difference between "Gold Circle" seating and general admission? Is the Gold Circle area closer to the stage? I don't even know the name of the building they'll be at. I just know it's at Grove City College.

Thanks!

yesibelieve @ 09:53 am: Help Needed :)
I’m a Journalism Grad student at Point Park and I could use the help of some local Pittsburghers.

For my final project, I am doing an article on adults over the age of 25, who sill live at home with their parents, or who have moved back home. I am looking for three different groups of people to interview:

1. Adults 25+ who still live at home for a variety of reasons (finances, health reasons, you’re just a mooch, etc)

2. Anyone between the ages of 16 and 30 who DID move out as soon as they had the chance and never went back.

3. Parents with adult children still living at home.

If you fit any of those categories and don’t mind being interviewed for this piece, please email me at m.normile@yahoo.com with your name, address, age, phone # and email address.

Thanks!

inkless @ 08:23 am: Textbooks
Hey everyone, thanks for the help with deciding what cell phone carrier to go with. We went with Verizon and I'm happy with it so far.

Another question...do any of you buy your textbooks online? If so, how? I'm hoping the ISBN numbers are made available on the bookstore web site, but I haven't checked in awhile. I'd appreciate any book buying tips!

inkless @ 09:26 pm: Cell phones!
Hey all,

What are your thoughts on cell phone coverage in the Grove City area? Any one carrier better than the others? A representative from T-Mobile told me I might need to be outside to get good reception, however, I've heard good things about Verizon and Cingular. I'll be getting my first cell phone within the next few weeks, so thought I'd check in and see what your experience was with cell phones at the Grove. =)

inkless @ 08:58 pm: Freshmen Testing...?
Hey guys, I'm curious...

What is Freshmen Testing?

I see it's scheduled for the week after orientation. Should I be worried?

inkless @ 03:37 pm: Questions!
Hey everyone!
I'm getting ready to fill out the housing survey for GCC, and I have a question:

Is it better to room with someone in your major? Advantages/disadvantages?

I can't decide, and my mom suggested I ask you tried and true veterans. ;-)

Also, I'm wondering what the internet access is like on campus. Can you get online anywhere on campus or only certain areas?

inkless @ 04:36 pm: Laptops
Hey guys, just wondering what you think of the laptops GCC gives freshmen, specifically those of you who have had them in recent years.

I read the specs on the 2005 freshman laptops, and the only thing that concerned me was the 12.1" size...how did that work for you?

Do you think I should bring my own laptop or are the GCC ones acceptable?

inkless @ 09:40 pm: The application *gulp*
Hello again everyone,
You totally sold me on GCC and now I'm in the nerve-wracking process of applying. Do you have any comments or suggestions regarding the application, especially the essays? What kind of topics and layout worked for you?

I am so nervous about this, even though my academics are solid and I know I'm a good fit for the college. It's scary when you want something this bad. It's hard to trust God. I would really appreciate your prayers regarding this...I know God will get me through whatever happens; it's just a matter of trusting him with the details.

Thanks again. You guys are great.

inkless @ 06:36 pm: Thank you! (And more questions)
Thank you all so much for your responses to my last post. I am so glad to have a chance to talk to real students and get beyond what I’d learn from a campus tour.

I plan to apply to GCC, and if I get accepted, I’ll probably visit the campus before I make a decision. But in the meantime, I’m trying to get to know the school as much as possible. So I have more questions!!

Do you run into liberal/secular professors? For example, are there profs advocating relativism, the homosexual lifestyle, etc.?

What are the English and Communications departments like? Do people from GCC get jobs with degrees in English/Comm? What kind of jobs?

How overwhelming was the workload coming in? Did you feel in over your head academically? I just retook the SAT for the second time today. My first score was 1260, and according to the director of admissions, that’s below the GCC average. I’m taking classes at a 2 year college now, and my GPA is 3.9. Still, I’m a little worried. What kind of student do you have to be to survive?

How do people handle trips back home over breaks? Since I live in WA state, flights home every Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and summer aren’t feasible for me. How is this handled if you live far away?

Thanks again. Your feedback is important to my decision.
