inkless @ 09:26 pm: Cell phones!
Hey all,

What are your thoughts on cell phone coverage in the Grove City area? Any one carrier better than the others? A representative from T-Mobile told me I might need to be outside to get good reception, however, I've heard good things about Verizon and Cingular. I'll be getting my first cell phone within the next few weeks, so thought I'd check in and see what your experience was with cell phones at the Grove. =)

I use Verizon, and I really didn't have any trouble with reception, except certain spots in my room.

Verizon and Cingular are best. with some of the older buildings that are cinder block there are certain places that are bad... but over all both of those have great coverage.

I had Cingular and I had horrible service in my dorm room and would have to sit on the windowsill in order to have a decent conversation. Verizon definitely gives you better service overall on campus, I think.

I have Verison and it works pretty well; certain spots in the buildings get bad reception but Verison works very well for me overall. Plus there is a Verison store right in town. My one friend from Virginia has Cingular but it seems like she has problems with it sometimes. From my understanding, T-Mobile works best in urban areas which Grove City is not. I would talk to reps from both Verison and Cingular and see if there is any difference in the sorts of options you can get in the GC area. Also you might want to check out the different kinds of phones you can get; if they seem to be about equal on coverage and options, maybe one will have a cooler phone for lower price than the other one.
